I've been taking lessons from a wonderful teacher to learn some new oil painting techniques. Oil glazing is a very old method used by the great masters, such as Leonardo da Vinci. It involves many multiple layers of very thin paint over an underpainting to achieve luminous colour. Its a fascinating process. I thought I'd try golden palomino on this beautiful medallion, sculpted by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig, which will be available during BreyerFest. Its almost done, just needs some details added.
